Hosted by the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), co-hosted by the Tianjin Lawyers Association and organised by the China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), the 2021 IPBA East Asian Forum came to a successful conclusion on the 25th September 2021.
Ms. Melissa Feng of GEN Law Firm was invited as guest speaker. She addressed the participants with a speech titled “Dispute Settlement Mechanism of RECP” in the concurrent session - “East Asia Regional Cooperation and the Integrated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei”. The concurrent session was hosted by the IPBA Regional Coordinator for East Asia, Song Dihuang.
Starting with the applicability and scope of RCEP dispute settlement, Ms. Feng elaborated the principles of and measures taken for dispute settlement in WTO and RCEP. Next, she set forth the essential requirements of the penalists and the procedures and natures of the arbitration, decision-making and enforcement of audit. Last but not least, integrating with her years of experience on the field, Ms. Feng shared her opinions on other critical issues of the RCEP dispute settlement.
