Jessica Lei is a partner supervising cross-border M&A transactions, foreign direct investment and general corporate practices of GEN Law Firm. She specializes in cross-border merger and acquisition transactions and represented overseas purchasers and sellers in designing transaction structure, drafting transactional documents, negotiating definitive agreements, and communicating with governmental authorities. Jessica also has extensive experiences in helping MNCs (especially in oil and gas, chemical and machinery industries) solve legal issues engaged by their Chinese subsidiaries in corporate formation and dissolution, licensing and regulatory, foreign exchange control, environmental protection, labor and employment, import and export control, cross-border E-commerce, contract review etc. Prior to joining GEN, Jessica worked for a prestigious US law firm for more than 8 years.

• Represented a Indonesian public oil and gas company in the acquisition of participating interests in exploring oil blocks in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Bangladeshi

• Advised a leading global TV shopping company on the restructuring of its joint venture with a central state-owned entity in China and on regulatory issues in terms of cross-border commerce, employment, anti-trust and ICP license as well as compliance issues

• Advised a Ecuadorian state-owned project company on the foreign exchange issues in connection with an EPC contract entered into with a Chinese state-owned hydropower company
