Ms. Pei LYU advises on a broad range of domestic and cross‑border matters, with a particular focus on complex and high‑stakes intellectual property litigation (both PRC and overseas), unfair competition disputes and advisory work, as well as cybersecurity and data protection compliance. She has extensive experience across all major areas of intellectual property law and is known for her strategic thinking and sharp instincts in handling the most challenging disputes. She also closely follows cutting‑edge IP issues arising from emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and AIGC.
Ms. Pei LYU has served as lead litigation counsel in various landmark cases. She represented Panpan in obtaining the maximum multiple of punitive damages and a damages award of RMB 100 million, which to date remains the highest damages awarded in China in the same type of case. She also represented Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Betriebs KG and Arnold & Richter Trading (Beijing) Co., Ltd. in successfully securing recognition of their blue‑silver colour combination as a product packaging and trade dress with certain influence in the market; this case was selected as one of the “Top 10 Cases of IP Protection 2020–2021” by QBPC in 2021. In addition, her representation in the BB‑12/LGG strain trademark protection case was selected by the Supreme People’s Court as one of the top cases. She continues to deliver effective strategies and outstanding results for clients on the most cutting‑edge and complex legal issues, including assisting clients in obtaining well‑known trademark recognition and substantial punitive damages.
Amid the wave of going global among Chinese enterprises, Ms. Pei LYU regularly assists many outbound companies, including Amazon sellers, with trademark filing and portfolio planning in key outbound destinations such as Europe, North America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and advises on strategic planning and the handling of cross‑border disputes. She has joined the Amazon IP Accelerator program to help Amason sellers. She has been successively appointed as an expert on overseas IP dispute resolution by multiple local intellectual property protection centers in Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Guangzhou and other regions.
Ms. LYU is admitted to both the Chinse bar and the State Bar of New York and has received CIPP-E certification from International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She has been selected into the expert pool of China IPR SME HELPDESK and the Foreign‑related Lawyers Talent Pool of the Beijing Lawyers Association.
